Step-by-step instructions.
I know it's hard to remember everything, so I'm going to break this down the exact same way I do in the studio.
Gold Pads
Take the gold pads, cut them in half, and place them in the resealable gold bag.
Blot Every 30–60 Minutes
Every 30 minutes to 1 hour:
- Take one pad
- Gently blot one brow for up to 30 seconds
- Move to the other side and repeat
- Throw it away
Do this until bedtime or until you run out of pads.
Wash (Starting Tomorrow)
- Take the bar soap we gave you and get it nice and sudsy.
- Gently wash your brows in small circles or back and forth.
- Rinse well and let them air dry, or pat dry with a paper towel.
Apply Ointment
Once your brows are dry, use a rice grain amount of ointment and a clean finger:
- Put a tiny dab on the back of your hand
- Lightly tap to pick up just enough
- Gently swipe over the brow
- Repeat on the other side

Emergency Contact
If you experience any of the following, text or call us immediately — do not wait.
- 🚨 Excessive swelling that isn't improving
- 🚨 Signs of infection (oozing, fever, heat)
- 🚨 Severe or worsening pain
Reassurance First
This is all normal.
Most clients panic at some point during healing — and almost always, it's completely normal. If you're seeing any of the following, you're right on track.
Brows Look Too Dark
Days 1–3 are always the darkest. The color softens significantly as healing progresses.
Flaking
Around Days 4–7 you'll see flaking. Do NOT pick — let it fall off naturally.
Itching
Itching is a sign of healing. Gently tap the area — never scratch.
Uneven Healing
One brow may heal faster or lighter than the other. This is completely typical.
Brows Look Like They Disappeared
The "ghost phase" — Days 10–21. The pigment is still there, settling under the skin.
Day-by-Day
Your healing timeline.
Fresh & Dark
- Brows will look bold and dark — this is completely expected
- Blot with the gold pads every 30–60 minutes until bedtime
- Cut each pad in half and store in the resealable bag
- Keep brows as dry as possible — no washing yet
- You may think "What have I done?" — trust the process
Flaking Begins
- Scabs and flaking will appear — do NOT pick or scratch
- Start washing once daily with the soap we provided
- Use a rice-grain drop of soap, small circles, rinse well
- Pat dry with a clean paper towel — never rub
- No makeup, no retinol, no acids on or near the brows
The Ghost Phase
- Brows may look like they almost disappeared — this is normal
- The pigment is settling under a fresh layer of skin
- Continue keeping brows dry and away from harsh products
- No swimming, saunas, or excessive sweating
- After Day 8 you may apply a rice-grain amount of ointment if still dry
True Color Reveals
- The healed color finally shows — lighter and softer than Day 1
- Any patchiness from the ghost phase should be resolved
- You can resume normal skincare near the brow area
- Avoid retinol and strong actives directly on brows long-term
6–8 Weeks After
- We'll reach out to book your Perfecting Session
- This session fills gaps, refines shape, and finalizes your result
- This is a required part of the service — not optional
Long-Term Care
Keep them looking great.
- Wear SPF near the brow area daily — UV exposure is the fastest way to fade pigment
- Avoid retinol and glycolic acid directly on or above the brows — they accelerate fading over time
- Be gentle when cleansing — no scrubbing or exfoliating directly over the brow area
- Schedule a Color Boost every 1–2 years to keep the pigment fresh and defined
Good to Know
Brow aftercare FAQs.
When can I get my brows wet?
Keep brows dry for the first 24 hours. After that, you can gently wash once daily with the soap we provided. Avoid submerging in pools, hot tubs, or open water for at least 10 days — prolonged moisture disrupts healing.
When can I wear makeup on my brows?
No makeup directly on the brows for at least 10 days while they're actively healing. After the flaking phase is complete and skin is closed, you're good to go — though you may not even need it.
Why do my brows look like they disappeared?
This is the ghost phase — it happens around Days 10–21. A fresh layer of skin has formed over the tattoo, making it look lighter or almost invisible. The pigment is still there, settling underneath. It will come back. #TrustTheProcess
When will I see my final color?
The true healed color typically reveals itself around Week 4–6. Your Perfecting Session at 6–8 weeks is what finalizes everything — that's when we'll make any adjustments needed.
Can I exercise during healing?
Avoid sweaty workouts for the first week — sweat can cause the pigment to push out before it sets. Light walking is fine. After Day 10 you can gradually return to your normal routine, but protect brows from direct sun and excessive sweat.
When do I schedule my perfecting session?
You don't need to self-schedule — we'll reach out to book it at the right time (6–8 weeks after your appointment). If you haven't heard from us by then, text us at (502) 906-6088.
