Why don't you offer microblading?
Microblading uses a blade to slice hair-like strokes into the skin — which can cause scarring, blurring, and ashy fading over time, especially on oily or mature skin. Machine shading is gentler, heals more predictably, lasts longer, and works for every skin type. We specialize in what produces the best long-term results for our clients.
Why don't you offer nano brows?
Nano brows use a machine to create individual hair strokes — the same concept as microblading but with a machine needle instead of a blade. On paper it sounds better, but nano strokes still face the same limitations as hair-stroke techniques: they tend to blur, spread, and fade unevenly over time, especially on oily, textured, or mature skin. Powder shading is more versatile, more forgiving, and ages more beautifully in the skin.
Which lasts longer?
Powder brows typically last 1–3 years depending on your skin type, lifestyle, skincare routine, and sun exposure. Hair-stroke techniques (microblading, nano brows) often fade within 12–18 months and can look blurred or patchy as they age. A Color Boost every 12–24 months keeps powder brows looking fresh without starting over.
Which works best on oily skin?
Powder brows — without question. Oily skin produces more sebum, which breaks down hair strokes faster and causes them to blur and fade unevenly. Machine shading implants pigment more deeply and evenly, making it significantly more compatible with oily and combination skin types.
Why do powder brows age better?
Hair-stroke techniques leave thin, shallow marks that blur and spread as the skin naturally turns over. Powder shading creates a softer, more diffused result from the start — which means as it fades, it fades gracefully rather than turning patchy or blurry. The healed result looks intentional at every stage.
Do powder brows work on mature skin?
Yes — and they're often the better choice for mature skin. Soft shading is more flattering than crisp hair strokes, which can look harsh or unnatural on skin that has lost elasticity or developed texture over time. Many of our clients over 50 are among our happiest powder brow clients.
Do I need a touch-up?
Yes. All permanent makeup is a two-step process. Your Perfecting Session (6–8 weeks after your initial appointment) is required — it perfects the shape, color, and density once your skin has fully healed. We'll reach out to book it. After that, a Color Boost every 1–2 years keeps everything looking its best.
